Five Reasons to Choose Byron Primary School

A Nurturing and Inclusive Community

Every child belongs at Byron.

Byron is a warm, welcoming school where every child is accepted and valued. We celebrate diversity and place children at the heart of everything we do, fostering a culture of inclusivity, kindness, and respect. Our values of respect, aspire and succeed are the centre of all we do.

Our learning journey nurtures academic achievement while also supporting children’s social and emotional growth. We believe in developing confident, well-rounded individuals.

Academic Excellence

We prepare children for the future. With a well-designed curriculum that allows all children to progress.

Byron pupils achieve end of year 6 results above local and national averages. More importantly, they leave us ready for the next stage of their education—resilient, capable, and inspired to succeed.

Learning in and with Nature

We offer facilities not found in most primary schools.

Our beautiful, newly renovated green spaces allow children to have the benefits of learning outside as well as inside the classroom. The children get to experience and learn in nature whilst still in the school grounds.  Outdoor learning is a key part of our curriculum in Early Years and through out the school, helping children connect with nature and develop holistically.

The children have access to the latest technology that engages them and supports them with their learning.

Enrichment and Opportunity

We take learning beyond the classroom, with a wide programme of school trips, visits and after school clubs.

During their school career, every Byron pupil gathers key experiences that every child should have.  Byron offers a rich programme of personal development. All children learn to play instruments, attend live music and sporting events.  They will be given the opportunity to participate in residentials to the countryside in Years 4, 5 and 6. Learn essential life skills like riding a bike, learning to swim and first aid.

Community Serving

A school where families feel supported, valued and part of the school community.

At Byron we offer high-quality wrap-around care, including a welcoming breakfast club to at the start of the day and after-school care that’s safe, engaging enriching and supports working parents.  We invite parents into school for half termly coffee mornings as well as Mum’s and Toddler groups, these are a great way to get to know our staff and other parents in our school community.  Opportunities are offered for you to visit your child’s classrooms for art showcases or reading sessions.
