Remote Education
Remote Education
At Byron Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils continue to access high-quality learning should they be unable to attend school for an extended period, or if circumstances require pupils to learn remotely.
Remote education is designed to maintain curriculum continuity and ensure that pupils continue to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding outlined within our curriculum. Learning provided remotely will be aligned as closely as possible to the learning taking place in school, enabling pupils to remain connected to their class curriculum and make progress over time.
Where remote education is required, learning may include:
- Carefully planned learning activities linked to current curriculum topics.
- Reading, writing and mathematics tasks.
- Access to online learning platforms and educational resources.
- Independent practice and retrieval activities.
- Opportunities to receive feedback and support from staff.
We recognise that every family's circumstances are different and will work closely with parents and carers to ensure pupils can access learning effectively. Where appropriate, school will consider support with devices, online access and adapted resources.
Our expectation is that pupils engage with remote learning to the best of their ability, supported by parents and carers where appropriate. Teachers will monitor engagement and provide support where barriers to learning are identified.
Remote education forms part of our commitment to ensuring that all pupils, including those with SEND, medical needs or other barriers to attendance, continue to receive a broad, balanced and ambitious education.
Through our remote education provision, we aim to ensure that pupils remain connected to their learning, their teachers and the wider school community, reflecting our values of Respect, Aspire and Succeed.
